The Nandanvan Estate is located at 4500ft above sea level in the lush valleys of Kodaikanal, South India. Approximately 10km south of the town of Kodaikanal, Nandanvan is at an ideal altitude, guaranteeing pleasant weather and fabulous coffee.
Pioneers of Biodynamic farming in India, The Nandanvan Estate was born in 1994. The estate moved on to practicing organic farming in 2004 and remains 100% organic to this day. We are entirely self sustained as all our coffee is processed using harvested rainwater.
We do not use any synthetic fertilizers and go through stringent third party accreditation to
renew our Organic Certification each year. We are currently certified organic by USDA andIndia
Organic Standards. Our organic inspections are conducted by IMO, a swiss based agency.
The Nandanvan rests in the heart of the Kodaiknanal Wildlife Sanctuary. We do not fence our estate or practice any deforestation. Nandan Coffee Beans grow among a double canopy of orange, avocado, jackfruit, pepper, silver oak, teak, rosewood and pine trees. As such, Nandanvan has evolved into a thriving safe haven for plants and animals alike.
We do not fence our lands, and allow free passage of animals through Nandanvan. You’re most likely to spot Elephants, Bison, Wild Boar, Monkeys, Malabar Squirrel as well as a variety of over Twenty types of Birds!
The Nandanvan Estate is open to visitors! With a Three Bedroom House, Front Porch, Two Gazeebos, Indoor and Outdoor Fireplace, The Nandanvan Estate is truly heaven on earth.
